Great Pumpkin Fest set for Saturday in downtown Downers Grove

DOWNERS GROVE – Residents are invited to lineup of live bands, costume contests, carnival games and other activities at the inaugural Great Pumpkin Fest in downtown Downers Grove.

Doors open at noon and close at midnight.

Proceeds will benefit the Education Foundation of Downers Grove District 58.

The fest includes an adult and kids costume contest, seasonal beer, wine and cider and food provided by Lemon Tree Grocer and Zest Bistro. Tickets are $5 and children 12 and under are free.

Any adult with a costume will receive a free $5 food coupon.

Admission includes free access to the kid’s zone for children 12 and under. The kid’s zone will have carnival games, a Halloween bounce house, face painting and the costume contest at 2:30 p.m.

Bands and scheduled to perform include the DG Rock Academy, Chris Tirtilli, CRASH, Alex Z and Cameron Box, Metal College and a house DJ will play in between live music acts.

The adult's costume contest is at 8:30 p.m.
