BERWYN – A car crashed through a fence near Euclid Avenue and landed on the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad tracks at about 11:30 a.m. Thursday.

Fire officials said the driver had a medical emergency that caused her to drive through the fence one block east of Oak Park Avenue.

The nature of that emergency or the woman's condition are unknown at this time.

At no time was there any contact with a train. All train traffic from the east and west was halted until the vehicle could be removed and the tracks inspected by railroad officials.

BNSF officials said one passenger train and one freight train were delayed about a half hour.
