LA GRANGE – FIT4MOM, a fitness program for mothers, will begin offering two of its classes in the La Grange area at the end of October.

Stroller Strides, a program that includes power walking and body toning using exercise tubing and a stroller, will celebrate its grand opening at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 28 at the McCook Athletic and Exposition Center. The first two classes, which take place Oct. 28 and 30, are free to those who register online at www.chicagowest.fit4mom.com.

Another class, Fit4Baby, will also be offered. The class involves a total body interval workout including strength training, cardio and flexibility exercises adjusted to participants' various stages of pregnancy.

"There is still quite a bit of misinformation out there in regard to exercise during pregnancy,” said Sara Franko, owner of FIT4Mom of Chicago's Western Suburbs, in a press release. “Our clients can rest assured that we are well-versed in the latest research and recommendations pertaining to this important population of women, and are therefore able to offer the safest and most effective program to date."
