La Grange train stations to get security cameras
LA GRANGE – The village of La Grange has received a grant to install security cameras at the Stone Avenue and La Grange Road train stations.
The cameras will be installed in coordination with the renovation of the Stone Avenue station, scheduled to be completed by May 30, 2014. The 112-year-old station will get four high-definition cameras, while the La Grange Road station will receive seven.
La Grange police will be in charge of monitoring the camera feeds at the police station. Three of the Stone Avenue cameras will be outside the station, with one inside. The La Grange Road station will have five outdoor cameras and two inside.
On Monday, the Village Board awarded the project to Naperville-based Closed Circuit Innovations for $38,180. The cameras are funded by a grant from the West Suburban Mass Transit District, which is also funding part of the Stone Avenue renovation.
