Glen Ellyn woman takes title at spelling bee

GLEN ELLYN – After a series of local spelling bees at retirement communities and senior centers in the Glen Ellyn, Downers Grove and Lombard areas, State Rep. Sandra Pihos (R-Glen Ellyn), hosted the Grand Finale Spelling Bee Oct. 9 at the DuPage County Historical Museum.

After 36 rounds, Margot Zwierlin of Glen Ellyn was named the champion after correctly spelling the word "laryngitis."
