Letter: In response to Roskam's recent column

To the Editor:

It’s frightening and disappointing to see Rep. Peter Roskam (R-Ill.) whine about the Affordable Care Act on the pages of the Suburban Life when the people of this country were suffering due to the crisis in the Republican-held House of Representatives.

Even as critical government services such as medical and food safety were held hostage, Rep. Roskam continued to ineffectually complain about a law that republican lawmakers refused to compromise on when it was lawfully enacted and have since failed to propose reasonable alternatives to.

Instead, Roskam and his fellow Tea Party thugs chose to cause the greatest harm to our economy by shutting down the government and threatening to throw the world into economic crisis by refusing to raise the debt limit.

Rep. Peter Roskam has failed in his job to support the constituents of his district. He has accomplished nothing more than partaking in the gridlock and mayhem that is hurting the economic recovery of the United States.
