Joseph Grissom, 35, 3859 Douglas Road, Downers Grove, was charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle Tuesday.

DOWNERS GROVE – The pizza delivery driver who reported his car stolen Sunday returned to work Tuesday to find his Kia Optima waiting for him in a parking space at the business, police said.

On Sunday, the driver for a pizzeria in the 900 block of Warren Avenue told police someone stole his car after he returned to the restaurant following a delivery at 10:45 p.m.

On Tuesday, he found the car along with several items left inside that were not his, including fast food bags, police said. Witnesses described a man seen near the vehicle a few minutes earlier. Police located the man, Joseph Grissom, 35, 3859 Douglas Road, Downers Grove, about a block away.

Grissom allegedly still had the car keys, and the alleged victim said he had never seen Grissom before and that he did not give anyone permission to take the car.

Grissom was charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
