DOWNERS GROVE – With each team needing a victory to give their playoff hopes a boost, it was the ground game of Downers Grove North that proved to be the difference in a 28-7 win over York Friday.
With the victory, the Trojans improved to 4-3 on the fall while the Dukes fell to 3-4.
The difference-maker in the West Suburban Silver conference matchup was Downers Grove North running back Kyle Leto, who found the endzone on three occasions.
He raced 40-yards for a touchdown to open the scoring in the first quarter and later added a 55-yard TD run and a one-yard score.
Vontae Diggs added the other touchdown on a nine-yard run.
York got on the scoreboard with a 15-yard pass from Charlie Rose to Mike Nasser late in the fourth quarter.
Downers Grove North once again played with quarterback David Edwards. Diggs and Sebastian Calvino split time under center.
