Man charged with murder of Wheaton woman in Glen Ellyn park indicted

The homeless man who allegedly stabbed his Wheaton girlfriend approximately 34 times before burying her in a shallow grave in a Glen Ellyn park has been formally indicted, according to the DuPage County State's Attorney's office.

Myron D. Ester, 45, was charged with five counts of first degree murder and one count of concealment of homicidal death on Oct. 9. He is accused of killing his girlfriend, Linda Valez, 33, who was also homeless. Ester had been arrested on approximately 46 previous occasions in Cook and DuPage counties prior to these most recent charges, the State's Attorney's Office said.

Ester is expected in court on Oct. 18 to enter a plea and could face life in prison if convicted.
