LOMBARD – Community members can meet local businesses and learn more about them during the Lombard Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry's 17th annual business expo from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 24 at Yorktown Center.

This free event will feature booths from local businesses and restaurants distributing free samples. There will also be an opportunity for guests to enter contests for Yorktown gift certificates.

Businesses interested in participating in this year's expo can contact the chamber office at 630-627-5040 or visit lombardchamber.com.

The chamber will sponsor a second event with Inland Bank from 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 26 in the Eastgate Shopping Center parking lot at Westmore-Meyers and Roosevelt roads.

This event, Trunk or Treat is an opportunity for children to dress up in their Halloween costumes and visit different local businesses who will be giving out treats from the trunks of their decorated vehicles.

Children 10 years old and younger who are in costume are welcome to participate.

"We are happy to be sponsoring this event for both the business community and residents," said Whitney Cimaglia, branch manager of Inland Bank at Eastgate.

There is a small fee for businesses and organizations to participate in the event, and space is limited. To reserve a spot, contact the chamber at 630-627-5040.
