Letter: Thankful for local Jewel service

To the Editor:

Has anyone else noticed the many "small" things Jewel at Ogden and Cass avenues has done to make life a little better when you go shopping?

There is the always-friendly employees that thank you for shopping at "our" store with a smile.

There was a young man the other afternoon restocking in the produce department. A cucumber had fallen to the floor and when I bent over and picked it up he rushed over to thank me many times. I could tell he was working his way to do just that, but he took the time to thank me.

The store is always clean and neat.

They took away the "Jewel Card", thank goodness – one less piece of junk in your wallet and/or key ring plus more privacy because everyone tracks what you buy these days! More stores should take a hint here!

Then there are the carts – those young men and women who bring them in make certain that the safety belts are fastened together and not wrapped around other baskets so that when you pull out one basket you do not pull out six.

Thank you Jewel for making the little things right.
