Barrett's esophagus, heartburn subject of upcoming seminar at Adventist Hinsdale

HINSDALE – Gastroenterologist Dr. Daksesh Patel will discuss “Healing Heartburn and Barrett’s Esophagus” during a free seminar set for Oct. 23.

The seminar will be hosted by both Adventist Hinsdale and Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospitals, and will run from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the fifth-floor regional board room at Adventist Hinsdale, 120 Oak St.

Patel will discuss the causes, symptoms and treatment options available for Barrett’s esophagus, the precancerous condition that can result from Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease. Those attending will get a better understanding of what is behind GERD and how to better manage it, according to a news release.
