Wheaton Park District plans two events for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

The Wheaton Park District is planning two October events for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, according to a news release from the district.

On Oct. 21, Wheaton's Arrowhead Golf Club will host Putt for Pink. All of the green fees raised that day will go to the Cadence Health Breast Health Center in Winfield, according to the release.

The golf course will hoist pink flags on the course and provide pink merchandise bags throughout the month. Arrowhead Restaurant and Bar will also donate 10 percent of each food bill to the health center.

On Oct. 25, residents can participate in the Zumbathon: Party for the Cure at the Wheaton Community Center, 1777 S. Blanchard St. Proceeds from the event, which will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m., will also go to Cadence Health. Tickets are $15 in advance and $25 the day of the event.
