GLEN ELLYN – Glen Crest Middle School in Glen Ellyn will host its annual Spartan Pumpkin 3.5K Walk/Run Oct. 27.

Proceeds from the run help offset costs of equipment needed for Glen Crest's intramurals, fitness center, inter-scholastics and physical education program.

The registration fee for the event is $15. The fee increases to $20 on race day. Participants 4 years old and younger are free.

The race fee includes a Spartan Pumpkin Run T-shirt, one raffle ticket and bottled water. Those who register the day of the race will receive the T-shirt a week later.

Early registration for the event will begin Oct. 18. Registration forms will be available at the Glen Crest main office. A drop box will be located in the office for completed forms, which should be enclosed in a sealed envelope.

The Spartan Pumpkin 3.5K Walk/Run will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Glen Crest parking lot, 725 Sheehan Ave. Check-in will take place from 9:30 until 10:15 a.m. in the school's main lobby.

The race will be held rain or shine. Raffle winners will be drawn in the Glen Crest gym after the Pumpkin Run ends.
