20th Annual Latino/a Behavioral Health Conference set for Oct. 18

CICERO – The Center for Latino/a Mental Health at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology will present the 20th annual Latino/a Behavioral Health Conference from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 18, at the Cicero Community Center, 2250 South 49th Ave.

The CLMH addresses the shortage of culturally-competent mental health professionals through its Latino Mental Health Provider Network, and through hosting workshops for professionals and students year-round.

This year’s conference is themed Adelante! Transforming Latino/a Behavioral Health, and is designed to benefit behavioral health providers, as well as other professionals involved in social services administration, including licensed social workers, psychologists and counselors.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be provided.

Maritza Gallardo-Cooper, Ph.D. co-author of the upcoming book Culturally Responsive Counseling with Latinas/os will be the keynote speaker for this year’s conference.
