Village of Downers Grove looks at zoning changes to allow for medical marijuana clinics
DOWNERS GROVE – The Village of Downers Grove is preparing for the new Illinois medical marijuana law by taking a look at its zoning code.
The Village Plan Commission voted unanimously Monday night to recommend adding medical marijuana cultivation centers and dispensaries to the list of allowable special uses in areas zoned for light manufacturing.
That recommendation will go on to the village council for ultimate approval, and will likely make its first council agenda appearance in early November, village spokesman Doug Kozlowski said.
