Prep roundup: North boys golfers move on to sectionals

The Glenbard North boys golf team will compete in Monday’s Class 3A Naperville Central sectional after placing third in the Hoffman Estates regional Tuesday.

The Panthers shot a 334, finishing behind Addison Trail (321) and Conant (328). The top three teams advanced.

Adding to the team accomplishment was Nick Brady’s individual round.

The sophomore grabbed medalist honors with a 74.

Fellow sophomore Kyle Tintera had a 76. Freshman Sahil Patel carded an 89 and senior Ben Pauling finished with a 95.

At the DuPage Valley Conference tournament on Oct. 3, Glenbard North finished in sixth-place with a score of 343. Individually, Brady came in third-place with a 73.

GIRLS GOLF

The Panthers competed at the Class AA Glenbard East regional Wednesday at Glendale Lakes Golf Club. The squad finished sixth with a team score of 408.

Hayley Jefferson posted a 91 to top Glenbard North and Bridget Everson followed with a 92. Both advanced to Monday’s Rockford Guilford sectional.

The Panthers played Wheaton Warrenville South to a 0-0 tie on Tuesday in a DuPage Valley Conference match.

The squad also tied Glenbard West by the same score on Saturday.

Two days before that, Glenbard North beat South Elgin 1-0 as Christian Romero scored the winning goal.

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY

The Panthers came in 19th place with a score of 480 at Saturday’s St. Charles North Invitational.

Joey Campagna led the way with his 47th-place finish in 16:18.8. Chris Marshall was next in 83rd place, followed by Isaac Medina (91st), Dennis Jenkins (116th) and Kevin Panuska (143rd).
