Every football season brings with it change as former players graduate and new names gain recognition for their exploits on the fields. From seniors having their best seasons yet to underclassmen making big impacts, these breakout players are helping their teams achieve this season.

Danny Lazzerini

School: West Chicago

Position: Running back

Year: Junior

Impact: While the Wildcats search for their first win, this junior has quickly made a name for himself. A hard-nosed runner, Lazzerini began the year with a two touchdown performance against King and on Friday, rushed for a season-high 128 yards against Bartlett. He has seven scores on the fall.

Cyris Parker

School: Glenbard North

Position: Defensive line

Year: Senior

Impact: After playing sparingly a season ago, this senior defensive end has become a force for the Panthers. The 6-foot-1, 210-pounder had his best game of the season on Friday, registering three sacks, three tackles for loss and a forced fumble against West Aurora and now has totaled a team-high 5.5 sacks on the season to go along with 25 tackles and eight tackles for loss.

Vittorio Tricase

School: Glenbard North

Position: Running back

Year: Freshman

Impact: Playing in the DuPage Valley Conference as a freshman is a tall order but Tricase thus far has been up to the task.

A back-up running back to Northwestern recruit Justin Jackson, he rushed for 113 yards and a touchdown in Week 5 against Glenbard East and then accumulated 110 total yards last Friday against West Aurora. For the season, Tricase is averaging 6.42 yards per rush and a team-high 21-yards on kickoff returns while also contributing on defense.
