Five Seasons in Burr Ridge to host 'Pumpkin Chunk’n Contest'

BURR RIDGE – A Halloween-themed festival for the whole family is on tap Oct. 26 at Five Seasons Family Sports Club in Burr Ridge.

From noon to 4 p.m., the first annual "Pumpkin Chunk’n Contest" at the club, 6901 S. Madison St., will feature a pumpkin-carving contest, a costume contest and a pumpkin-throwing contest.

All activities are free of charge, and the event is open to club members as well as members of the public. Geared toward toddlers to teens, everyone is welcome to partake in any, or all, of the contests, according to a news release.

For the pumpkin-carving portion, participants will be judged on pumpkins that they have carved and decorated ahead of time.

Check-in registration is from noon to 12:30 p.m., with the costume contest starting at 1 p.m. and the pumpkin throwing contest, to be held in the outdoor sand volleyball courts, starting at 2:30 p.m.
