Althoff: Events abound at the Lisle Chamber

Published: Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013 10:36 a.m. CST

October is a month of change for the season and the Lisle Chamber has a couple of programs of general interest and several ribbon-cuttings.

We are happy to welcome the Lynch Law Firm with a ribbon-cutting on Thursday, Luis Arturo Dance in Glen Ellyn on Oct. 15 and Walsh Financial on Oct. 24.

We will have two major gatherings this month, a luncheon featuring State Sen. Michael Connelly as the speaker on Oct. 17 at the Lisle Hyatt and a Regional Economic Forecast breakfast with several other chambers on Oct. 24 at the Hotel Arista in Naperville.

This breakfast will feature a panel of four people, including John Calamos of Calamos Investments, Blu Putnam of the CME Group, and J.D. Foster of the U.S. Chamber. It will be moderated by Terry Savage.

We thank the Naperville Chamber for coordinating this event and including the Lisle Chamber.

Our Ale Fest at the end of September was a huge success and we intend to present it again next year.

We thank all who attended and our sponsors, including the Village of Lisle, Lisle Auto Plaza, the Lisle Park District and Alphagraphics as major sponsors. A good time was had by all.

At the end of the month the downtown businesses present Trick or Treat on Main St. from noon to 3 p.m. Oct. 26. This very popular event brings hundreds of children and parents to Lisle’s beautiful downtown and we hope you will join us.

Don’t forget to visit the Morton Arboretum for the beautiful colors, as well!
