LOMBARD – The parking lot of Lombard's independently owned grocery store, Mr. Z's, 401 S. Main St., stood empty all week after the business closed its doors Sept. 28.

The Zeidler family owned and operated the store from 1933 until it closed last week. Several Lombard residents spoke out on the store's Facebook page to share fond memories of the local grocery store and mourn it's closing.
