HINSDALE – The Hundred Club of DuPage County will be honoring firefighters/paramedics Daniel Majewski and Donald Newberry from the Hinsdale Fire Department during its annual meeting and presentation of Valor Awards dinner.

The annual meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 30 at the Lisle Hilton Hotel.

The firefighters/paramedics have been selected from their peers and an application submitted by the Hinsdale Fire Chief Richard Ronovsky to the DuPage County Fire Chiefs Association to receive this prestigious Award of Valor, a life-long honor for law enforcement and firefighters.

Majewski and Newberry are being recognized for their act of bravery and heroism undertaken in the face of personal injury or risk of life during a response to a house fire in the early morning of Feb. 28, at a home on South Bruner Street, and the rescue of an elderly woman trapped in a rear room, unconscious and cyanotic with a pulse.
