GLEN ELLYN – Several business leaders in Glen Ellyn will gather for a panel series sponsored by the Glen Ellyn Public Library to share insights with others in the community looking to launch their own business.

The two-part "Start Your Own Business Panel" series will be held Oct. 8 and 15 at the Glen Ellyn Civic Center, 535 Duane St.

The first panel will focus on how to start a business from scratch and will address taxes, accounting and payroll, loans, IT solutions, legal ownership structure and more.

The panel will feature attorney Charles Wentworth of the Law Office of Lofgren & Wentworth, CPA Jeffery Waters, Will Grosch of Community Bank of Glen Ellyn and Wheaton, Rose Southard of Rational Technologies and John Hoffman of Community Insurance Group.

The second panel will focus on local businesses, franchises and marketing.

Participants include Jill Foucre of Marcel’s Culinary Experience, Terri Smith-Pfeiffer of Office Resource Solutions, Katie Cass of Massage Envy, Sandy Skibinski of Money Mailer and Mary Hanley of My Virtual Service.

They will discuss why they decided to start their businesses, chronicle the steps involved and offer marketing strategies to grow clientele.

Glen Ellyn Public Library Board President John Mulherin will moderate both panels.
