Award-winning chili recipes recognized at Chilympics Chili Cook-Off in Downers Grove

DOWNERS GROVE – It was a fiery competition at the inaugural Chilympics Chili Cook-Off on Saturday at Fishel Park in Downers Grove.

Award-winning chili recipes were prepared throughout the day at the Downers Grove Park District event, sanctioned by the International Chili Society and available for sampling by spectators.

Taking home the top prize was Debra Hunt, who was awarded a $600 cash prize and will advance to the World Finals this month in Palm Springs, Calif.

Entertainment was provided throughout the day by Billy Croft and the 5-Alarm Band, SODA, 104.3 K-Hits and 98.3 WCCQ, as well as plenty of food and beverages to go around from participating vendors.
