LEMONT – A portion of 127th Street at High Road has partially reopened to traffic after a kerosene leak from a CITGO pipeline, according to Lemont Police Chief Kevin Shaughnessy.

A contractor working for AT&T punctured a liquid hydrocarbon line on Oct. 1, AT&T said in a media statement.

"Although an underground utility survey was conducted prior to initiating this project, this particular pipe line was not identified," the statement said. "We apologize for any inconvenience to motorists and residents of Lemont."

Shaughnessy said the road is open to local traffic only and flagmen will be directing traffic.
