Lisle Woman’s Club participates in Veteran’s Affairs' Stand Down

LISLE – The Lisle Woman’s Club is supporting the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs' “Stand Down” initiative once again. 

“Stand Down” is a collaborative effortbetween the VA and other organizations to provide services to homeless veterans. Veterans comprise a large percentage of the homeless in the Chicago area, according to a release.

The Woman’s Club is collecting new unisex socks (preferably tube socks) to give to the veterans. Donations of socks can be dropped off through Oct. 26 at: Lisle Savings Bank (both the Main Street and Maple Avenue locations), Lisle Park District, Lisle VFW, Trinity Church Grounds for Hope Café, Lisle Library, Lisle High School Key Club, and to any Woman’s Club member.
