Billy Goat Tavern coming to Yorktown
LOMBARD – A new location of Chicago’s legendary Billy Goat Tavern is coming to Lombard, the village’s Community Development Director Bill Heniff confirmed last week.
The restaurant and bar will be located in the Yorktown area, although Heniff was unsure of the business’s pending location or a timeframe on when it will open. Calls to Yorktown’s management staff for additional information were not returned.
The original Billy
Goat Tavern is on Madison Avenue in Chicago, near the United Center, home of the Chicago Blackhawks and Bulls. The bar was called the Lincoln Tavern when William “Billy Goat” Sianis bought it in 1934, but was later
renamed when a goat fell off a passing truck outside
the location and wandered inside, according to the
Billy Goat Tavern’s website.
