Residential burglary reported
A woman found an open door when she returned to her house after being away for about 15 minutes at 10:45 a.m. Sept. 25 in the 600 block of South Garfield Avenue. There were no signs of forced entry into the house and there were no signs of any items within the home disturbed, however, a watch valued at $2,500 was missing from the home. The victim recently had authorized workers in her home.
Identity theft reported
An unknown suspect withdrew $2,500 from a victim's checking account at noon Sept. 17 in the 500 block of North Garfield Avenue.
Burglary to car reported
An unknown suspect entered a victim's car and stole two DVDs and a book between 3 and 3:45 p.m. Sept. 26 in the 200 block of West Chicago Avenue. The DVDs and book had a combined value of $90. There were no signs of forced entry into the car.
• An unknown suspect stole a victim's iPad while she was shopping between 3:15 and 4 p.m. Sept. 26 at Whole Foods, 500 East Ogden Ave. The victim had the iPad in her shopping cart and was unsure if the theft happened in the store or in the parking lot.
• An unknown suspect stole two pair of earrings valued at $230 between 1:30 and 1:40 p.m. Monday from Alixandra Collections, 40 South Washington St.
• A woman alleged a hospital staff member made unlawful physical contact with her by grabbing her arm and taking her phone from her while she was visiting a patient at 4:50 a.m. Sept. 26 at Adventist Hinsdale Hospital, 120 North Oak St. Police were called for assistance to remove the woman from the patient treatment room.
• A woman reported unlawful physical contact was made to her while she was receiving treatment between 12:01 a.m. Sept. 25 and 11:59 p.m. Sept. 26 at Adventist Hinsdale Hospital. The physical contact alleged to have occurred during a medical procedure.
Teens charged for alcohol use
Marco Cortez, 19, 3219 West Lake St., Glenview, and two 17-year-old male juveniles of Glenview were charged with unlawful use of alcohol by a person under 21 at 2:27 a.m. Sunday at Ogden Avenue and Vine Street. One of the 17-year-olds driving was also charged with speeding and having no valid driver's license.
Joseph Castro, 23, 17207 Teakwood Drive, Tinley Park, was charged with retail theft and possession of marijuana at 5:45 p.m. Monday at Hinsdale News Agency, 24 East Hinsdale Ave. Suspect was observed stealing a T-shirt from Hinsdale News Agency and was found in possession of a green leafy substance, which field tested positive for marijuana.
