DuPage County Historical Museum wins awards for folk art exhibit

WHEATON – The DuPage County Historical Museum has been presented with two awards for its "Early Illinois Folk Art: 1825-1925" temporary exhibit, according to a news release from the Wheaton Park District.

The museum was given an award of excellence from the Illinois Association of Museums for the exhibit, particularly its interactive components and creative marketing during its sponsorship of the Fox Valley Antiques Show Oct. 19 and 20.

The Park District and Museum also received the American Graphic Design Award by Graphic Design USA for a promotional catalog featuring many of the pieces in the exhibit and descriptions of the event.

The exhibit will run through Oct. 27 and will include an open house from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 19. For more information, visit dupagemuseum.org
