Glen Ellyn police announce increased police activity around Panfish Park, provide few details

GLEN ELLYN – Glen Ellyn police announced today that residents may notice an increased police presence in the area around Panfish Park in Glen Ellyn as officers investigate a missing persons report from another jurisdiction.

Police said little in a news release, other than that Glen Ellyn police began patrolling parks and wooded areas today in responce to the recent missing persons case.

An officer walking through a wooded area in Panfish Park located a space where there appeared to be "pedestrian activity," according to the release. Glen Ellyn police then requested assistance from the DuPage County Sheriff's Evidence Team to further investigate the area.

Glen Ellyn police warned that the evidence collection process may take some time and that the effort has created "a significant police presence in the area."

No other information was available from Glen Ellyn police as of 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
