Roadrunners earn first ESCC win

Fenwick remains undefeated with conference win

Nazareth 27, Carmel 17: Senior Decxavier Kelly-Martin sealed the game for the Roadrunners with a pick-six in the fourth quarter for the game’s final score and his younger brother, freshman running back Ivory Kelly-Martin, had more than 100 yards on the ground. Julian Love scored on touchdowns runs of 30 and 6 yards in the Roadrunners’ first East Suburban Catholic Conference win of the season.

Fenwick 31, St. Ignatius 6: The Friars remained undefeated with a convincing win at St. Ignatius Friday night in a Chicago Catholic League White game. Gino Cavalieri passed for touchdowns to Ryan Smith and Robert Spillane and wide receiver Richard Schoen had more than 100 yards receiving. Fenwick is one win from clinching a second straight playoff birth and plays Gordon Tech next.

Proviso West 34, Proviso East 13: The Panthers picked up a fifth straight win over their winless district rivals Saturday in Maywood. West, now 2-3, returns to conference play with a game against fellow 2-3 squad York on Friday.

De La Salle 42, St. Joseph 7: The Chargers couldn’t hang with the host Meteors in a Chicago Catholic League crossover Friday night. St. Joseph fell to 1-4 and has another stiff test against Catholic Blue opponent Brother Rice, also 1-4.
