Gallery 200 in West Chicago invites community to 'Fall into Art'

WEST CHICAGO – Gallery 200 in West Chicago will kick off the autumn season with the featured artist exhibit “Fall into Art” on display throughout the month of October.

“Fall into Art” will feature oil paintings by Marge Hall, books and papers by Cheryl Mahowald, soft pastel by Heide Morris, mixed media by Buddy Plumlee, Mandy Jones and First Star Art, photography and jewelry by Britta Renwick and colored pencil illustrations by Kathy Steere.

The exhibit will be paired with a silent auction to benefit the West Chicago Cultural Arts Commission Scholarship Fund, which supports local students as they pursue an education in the arts.

Items for auction include fine art donated by Gallery 200 member artists, including framed originals, greeting cards and sculptures. Various art supplies also will be for sale. 

An opening reception to meet the artists of “Fall into Art” will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday. The event will feature light refreshments and entertainment by Gallery 200 artist and musician Mandy Rakow.

The works will be displayed at Gallery 200 Oct. 3 through 27.

The gallery is open noon to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday and noon to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at 200 Main St.
