Seguin RCA ready to solicit scholarships to area high schools

BERWYN – Seguin RCA will be awarding two $1,000 scholarships to high school students in the area who will pursue an education that will lead to serving the special needs community.

Application packages for the Seguin RCA (Retarded Citizens Association) Scholarship Program are being sent out to six high schools from which the two students will be selected for the $1,000 scholarship.

Those schools include Morton East, Morton West, Lyons Township, Riverside-Brookfield, Oak Park-River Forest and Nazareth Academy.

Seguin RCA also will provide one $1,000 scholarship to an individual currently working as a Direct Care Professional from one of six area agencies, including Garden Center Services, Seguin Services, Inc., Community Support Services, Oak Leyden Developmental Services, Helping Hand Center and Seguin Farm.

The scholarships will be awarded at Seguin RCA’s Annual Benefit in March 2014.

Seguin RCA has been in the business of training and advocating for individuals with developmental disabilities since 1949.
