Men in black Ford Mustang suspected in series of paintball gun shootings

DOWNERS GROVE – The occupants of a black Ford Mustang are suspected in a series of incidents where pedestrians were shot at with a paintball gun in Downers Grove, according to police.

At 7:26 p.m. Tuesday, a woman walking her dog at Powell Street and Dunham Road told police a passenger in a solid black two-door car, suspected to be a Mustang, fired four shots in her direction from what might have been a BB gun. The passenger who allegedly fired the shots was described as a male with dark hair, large build and between the ages of 15 and 20.

Police said at 6:42 p.m. Monday, there was a report of a black Ford Mustang shooting at a jogger with a yellow paintball at 67th and Main streets. At 6 p.m. that day, another pedestrian was struck by a paintball fired from a similar vehicle at 75th Street and Fairview avenue, police said.

Police have not located the vehicle.
