Beckon Hill senior community in Lombard earns top rating

LOMBARD – Beacon Hill in Lombard recently received a 5-star rating from the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services, which rates senior living communities based on several factors including resident satisfaction surveys and staffing.

Beacon Hill has received the top ranking of five stars every year since the system began in 2008 and is one of 10 retirement communities in the state to earn the distinction, according to a news release.

The community includes 395 apartment homes and in the past year served 297 seniors at the health center, which is attached to the independent-living portion of the facility.

"Our low staff turnover is one of the reasons we're able to consistently achieve such high scores on our Medicare ratings and resident surveys," said Heidi Zimmermann, administrator for Beacon Hill's Health Center. "Having consistent staff is comforting for our residents and their families, and we see that in the surveys and through the 5-star ratings we've received."
