Woman charged with drug induced homicide of Wheaton friend
A woman has been charged with supplying the heroin that led to a Wheaton friend's overdose, according to a news release from the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office.
Jennifer Nere, 33, whose last known address was 7400 64th St. in Summit, allegedly delivered heroin to her friend Augustina Taylor's Wheaton home in the late night hours of June 27. The two then allegedly went into Taylor's bathroom and took the heroin together.
A short while later, Taylor's son found his mother deceased on the floor of the bathroom due to an apparent heroin overdose, the release said.
Nere had been held in Cook County Jail since Aug. 24 on unrelated charges, but was released into the custody of DuPage County authorities Sept. 23.
Nere is charged with one count of drug induced homicide and unlawful delivery of a controlled substance. Bond is set at $300,000. Nere will next appear in court Oct. 1 for an arraignment.
