Thousands of residents and visitors arrived at Berwyn’s 13th annual Oktoberfest on Friday and Saturday in the mood to celebrate fall.

Amy Crowther, at the Berwyn Development Corporation, said the event was jammed with visitors at the center stage Friday.

Food, beer and craft vendors remarked it was the best year they’ve had in terms of sales, she said.

“This was definitely the biggest and best year in 13 years [that the festival has been put on]. Everyone was really pleased with the turnout,” Crowther said.

“In the early years, it was a one day event. Now, it really is a tourism draw. Each year we draw more people from outside of the community.”
