Crime reporter topic of Western Springs Historical Society lecture

WESTERN SPRINGS – Western Springs resident Ione Quinby was the first female reporter to cover the crime beat at the Chicago Evening Post during the 1920s. 

Quinby is the topic of a new book by authors and historians Genevieve McBride and Stephen Byers, who will speak about Quinby's drama-filled life Oct. 2 at Thomas Ford Memorial Library. The couple will present highlights from their book as part of a lecture sponsored by the Western Springs Historical Society.
