WHEATON – Wheaton North couldn't wait to return to the field after falling to Wheaton Warrenville South in week three.

And once the Falcons got there Friday, they turned in their most complete effort of the young season in a 31-13 victory over Naperville North.

Win the win, the squad improved to 3-1 on the season with a matchup against Lake Park looming next week.

Things didn't look good at the outset as the Huskies returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown.

But from there, the Falcons' defense made a host of big plays, starting with Billy Buhle's 22-yard interception return for a score which knotted the score at seven-apiece.

Clayton Thorson added a three-yard rushing score and Dom Garza ran one in from four-yards out at the end of the second quarter to give the home team a 21-13 lead at halftime.

A seven-yard TD run by Dee Alexander midway through the third quarter upped the advantage to 28-13. Nick Cairo's 24-yard field goal rounded out the scoring.

Garza finished with 98 yards rushing on 19 carries.
