Fall has arrived and we are very excited about our upcoming programs.
As the weather starts to get chilly and you are looking for fun things to do, remember to visit your library. There are too many programs to cover them all but I’ve picked a few that might be of interest to you.
Autumn Harvest Favorites: Oct. 2
One of the best things about fall is the food!
Whether it’s pumpkin muffins, chili or apple pie, you are sure to taste something you love. Autumn Harvest Favorites is a fun evening program from 7 to 8:30 p.m. hosted by Chef Michael Maddox, who will demonstrate how to prepare fall favorite meals. Food samples will also be given out so you don’t want to miss this program. Registration is required and will fill quickly, so sign-up today.
Second Annual Costume Exchange: Oct. 5
Pull out the cowboy, princess and duck costumes and bring them to our second annual Costume Exchange. We introduced the Costume Exchange for the first time last year and it was a hit. It’s a great way to recycle costumes and save money in the process. The costume exchange will be held at the library from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Residents may donate a gently used costume and receive a certificate for one free costume. All donations will be accepted from this Saturday until Oct. 4. People who have donated items and received a certificate may come to the costume exchange on Oct. 5 from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Those who have not donated costumes may come from noon to 1 p.m. to select costumes free of charge.
Monster Movie Madness: Oct. 12
If you are looking for a fun and free weekend activity to do with the family, we’ve got a program for you. On Saturday, Oct. 12, we are hosting Monster Movie Madness in Meeting Room A from noon to 4 p.m. We will be showing family friendly spooktacular movies and free popcorn and beverages will also be served. The movies will be rated PG. Call Rocio Brown at 630-685-4186 for information on movie titles.
Fall Book Sale: Oct. 19-20
The Friends of the Fountaindale Public Library will hold their fall Book Sale on Saturday, Oct. 19 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 20 from noon to 3 p.m. Choose from a wide variety of books – paperbacks and hardcover, large print, DVDs, CDs, magazines, and other items.
