Former Harper College wrestler Kerin Ramirez, 21, was sentenced to probation and time served Thursday for drunkenly entering the home of a police officer who shot and wounded him.

WOOD DALE – A former Harper College wrestler was sentenced to probation and time served after drunkenly wandering into the home of a police officer who shot him, according to a media report.

Kerin Ramirez, 21, was found guilty of felony trespass and acquitted of a more serious charge of home invasion in July.

DuPage County Judge George Bakalis sentenced Ramirez Thursday. According to the report, Bakalis said Ramirez was drunk when he mistakenly entered the home of an off duty Wood Dale police officer.

The officer testified that he shot Ramirez in the abdomen after Ramirez attacked him.
