COUNTRYSIDE – The long-delayed construction of a second tower at Clocktower Pointe, a luxury condo development near Joliet and Willow Springs roads, will likely begin within the month.
In order to spur the development, the City Council voted Sept. 11 to waive building permit and plan review fees for the new tower, which will be identical to the existing six-floor, 18-unit tower.
The first tower was built just before the recession, which stalled the rest of the development. Hinsdale-based Foxford Development bought the property and is hoping to complete the second tower by the end of 2014.
"There's not many [luxury condos] in that area," Foxford President Peter Brennan said.
Units range in size from 1,950 to 2,300 square feet, Brennan said. The rooftop offers a view of the Chicago skyline and covered parking spaces for each unit are on the ground floor. Brennan said the company has not started to market units for the new tower.
