DOWNERS GROVE – Downers Grove officials said the rain storm Wednesday evening and Thursday morning did not result in any reported flooding in the village.

"The heaviest rain was to the east of us," Village Spokesman Doug Kozlowski said. "Aside from the Ogden Avenue [lightning] strike that brought down the live wire, we did not have any issues."

The live wire came down on Ogden Avenue around 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, closing all lanes of traffic near its intersection with Venard Road for about 45 minutes. There were no injuries reported.
