Glendale Heights man charged with residential burglary near Lombard

LOMBARD – A Glendale Heights man was charged with residential burglary by members of the DuPage County Sheriff after deputies saw him walking down the street with a television while they investigated a burglary that had happened in the neighborhood.

Ernest Robinson, 34, of the 100 block of Waters Edge Drive, in Glendale Heights, was charged with one count of residential burglary and one count of attempted residential burglary, both felonies, Wednesday morning in unincorporated DuPage County near Lombard.

At 8:40 a.m. Wednesday, sheriff's deputies were called to a home on Pineview Street for a report of someone trying to break into the home. The area was searched but no suspect was found. Deputies were then called to reports of a residential burglary at 11 a.m. Wednesday on Meyers Road and while they were searching the area, the Lombard Police Department was called to check on a suspicious person who was walking down the street with a television.

Robinson was located, charged and is currently being held in DuPage County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
