Car catches on fire in Oak Brook garage, no reported injuries

OAK BROOK – The Oak Brook Fire Department responded to a car on fire inside an attached garage at 1:55 p.m. Wednesday at 126 Woodland Drive, in the residential Timber Trails subdivision.

Fire crews arrived on scene to find a fully involved attached garage fire with some extension into the house. The occupants were confirmed to be out of the house, according to a news release.

Initial fire crews controlled the main body of fire and stopped further spread of the fire into the home. The fire was then extinguished by 2:26 p.m., according to the release.

Crews then performed ventilation to remove smoke, overhaul and search for hidden fires to confirm no fire extension. There were no reported injuries and the incident was terminated by 3:33 p.m. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The Oak Brook Fire Department was assisted by the Oak Brook Police Department with traffic control as well as the following fire departments: Elmhurst, Hinsdale, York Center, Hillside, Westchester, Broadview , Brookfield, Lombard and Westmont.
