Bartlett man killed in motorcycle crash

BARTLETT – A Bartlett man died after sustaining injuries in a motorcycle crash Sept. 18 on Lake Street.

Manuel O. Duenez, 24, was riding a motorcycle westbound on Lake Street when he struck a tow truck attempting to make a U-turn from the westbound lanes of Lake Street into the eastbound lanes, according to a news release from the Bartlett Police Department.

Duenez suffered serious injuries and was transported to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates by the Bartlett Fire Protection District, the release said. He was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

All lanes of Lake Street were closed from the exit ramp of IL Route 59 to North Bartlett Road for two and a half hours while Bartlett Police investigated the crash, according to the release.

No charges or citations were issued at the time of the release.
