Odgen Avenue reopens after lightning strike downs live wire in Downers Grove

DOWNERS GROVE – All lanes of Ogden Avenue at Venard Road reopened around 5 p.m. Wednesday after a lightning strike downed a live power line, according to the village of Downers Grove.

"The fire department is on the scene and ComEd, if not there yet, is in route," Village Spokesman Doug Kozlowski said at 4:29 p.m. Wednesday.

The lightning struck the power line around 4:15 p.m., he said.

There were no injuries reported, he said.
