Published: Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013 2:16 p.m. CST

HINSDALE – Artist Tammy Deck creates one-of-a-kind textiles that blur the lines between fashion and art by intertwining fibers, threads and fabric, which she transforms through water.

Deck’s award-winning work has been featured on HGTV, in books and magazines, and at art shows around the state, including the Hinsdale Fine Art Show.

Born and raised in the Chicago area, Deck studied fashion design at both Harper College and Northern Illinois University and holds a degree in clothing and textile science with a minor in fiber art.

An exhibit of her work, "Fractured Felt," will be on display in the library’s Quiet Reading Room now through November.

The work on display is available for purchase through her website at tlddesigns.com.
