Wheaton City Council approves $190,000 flood prevention study in Briarcliffe neighborhood
WHEATON – One area among those hit the hardest during April's storms will soon be the subject of a city-sponsored study attempting to limit future flooding.
The nearly $190,000 study was unanimously approved during a Sept. 16 meeting of the Wheaton City Council.
The study will determine the existing level of flood protection for the Briarcliffe subdvision and identify any alternate measures that could be taken to protect the properties in the neighborhood, Wheaton Director of Engineering Paul Redman said at a previous council planning meeting.
