LA GRANGE – Lyons Township High School's Advanced Placement program set two school records in 2013.
Exactly 700 LT students took AP exams last school year, and 93 percent of them received a score of three or higher, both new records, the school announced. A score of at least three is usually required for students to obtain college credit from the exams.
In total, the students took 1,405 exams, nearly double the amount taken a decade ago.
District 204 encourages students to enroll in at least one AP class during their high school career. Its goal for the class of 2017 is for 60 percent of the class to have taken at least one AP class prior to graduation.
